Tips for using a soft percussion drill

Soft percussion machines (from Baier, Weka, Cardi, Tyrolit) for dry drilling in reinforced concrete normally have two options:

Option 1: If used in the soft-percussion way:

• Drilling in reinforced concrete / concrete / or solid / compact materials (never in bricks with holes)
• You can work dry
• Very important to use a good hoover
• Very important to use the right speeds according to the Ø you are using
• As you drill, it is good to move up and down a little, this helps the vacuum to cool the drill and suck up the dust for a better job
• Don't push the drill, let the drill work and the work will be faster and less wear and tear on the diamond

Option 2: If you use it in Rotation way (not soft percussion):

• KEM soft percussion drills are not made for this. You should use normal dry drills (if working dry) or normal wet drills (if working wet). From time to time you can make spare holes, but this drill is not recommended for normal rotary drills as you have other drills for that.
